Marriage: defined

June 17th, 2008

Greg and I are watching nothing in particular on TV. We half-observe a commercial for a rerun of an old John Malkovitch movie.

Me - I like John Malkovitch.

Greg - I liked him in “Being John Malkovitch.”

Me - I liked him in that other movie. Damn, what’s it called? It began with a ‘V.’

Greg - Dangerous Liasons?

Me - Yes!

Greg (incredulous) - Really?

Me (not even close to incredulous) - Yeah, now why did I think it began with a “V?”

(Turns out - John Malkovitch’s character was all Vs — that’s how my brain works.)

Apparently, this is marriage. Love, companionship, someone else to take a turn at catching the carpenter ants and a little bit of a one-brain thing. I like it.

Do we have one blog-brain? Greg describes tonight’s anecdote like this.

These guys are washing the many windows of the Discovery building in Silver Spring, MD. In between shifts, they also develop reality programming.
